Emphasis is placed on the concepts of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Course outcomes include a detailed understanding of the nurse’s role in safe drug administration, assessment of patient response to drug therapy, patient education, and evidence-based treatment guidelines. Legal and ethical principles of medication administration are reviewed.
