NUR 2804C — PROFESSIONAL NURSING AND HEALTH CONCEPTS II

Degree, minimum grades of C in NUR 1020C , NUR 1061C , NUR 2522C , NUR 1141C , NUR 2221C , NUR 1470C , NUR 2223C . This course focuses on the concepts of healthcare organizations, technology & informatics, health care law, healthcare quality, safety, professional identity, and clinical judgement. Emphasis is placed on leadership roles, management of care, coordination of care services, and collaboration with the healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective care for patients, families and significant others in the care environment. This course will relate nursing accountability to legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks. This course will also emphasize the knowledge, skills, and attitude that transition from a student nurse's role to an entry-level registered nurse's role. Learning experiences will be conducted in a variety of patient care settings. Upon completion, the student will meet the end of program learning outcomes. A grade of satisfactory in the clinical/lab is required.
