The AAS-N degree at Jackson College prepares students to become Registered Nurses (RNs) through classroom instruction, labs, and clinical experiences in approved healthcare settings. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. Admission is competitive and requires prerequisite coursework in anatomy, chemistry, statistics, English, and psychology, along with a Kaplan Admissions Assessment. The program is approved by Michigan LARA and accredited by the NLN Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Prerequisites: High school diploma or GED, BIO 253 – Human Anatomy & Physiology I completed with 2.5 or higher by application deadline, BIO 254 – Human Anatomy & Physiology II completed with 2.5 or higher before program start, CEM 131 – Fundamentals of Chemistry completed or in progress with 2.0 or higher, MAT 133 – Introduction to Probability & Statistics (or higher) completed or in progress with 2.0 or higher, ENG 131 – English Composition I completed before or during Semester 1, Level 1, PSY 130 – Introduction to Psychology completed before or during Semester 3, Level 3, GEO #6 (General Education Outcome) completed before or during Semester 4, Level 3, Kaplan Admissions Test minimum composite score of 62%, Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges
