This page outlines the portfolio requirements for admission to the Graphic Design program at Holland College. Applicants must submit a scored portfolio (minimum 70/100 points) comprising a hand-drawn logo, expressive hand-lettered typography, a poster design, a T-shirt design, three original works from the past year, a personal essay, and a well-presented digital portfolio. Generative AI and copied work are not permitted. Portfolios may be submitted via MyDashboard or emailed to admissions.

Prerequisites: Grade 12 or equivalent with credits at or above the general level, Grade 12 English, minimum 60%, Submission of a portfolio, Résumé including work and volunteer experience with applicable dates, membership in groups, associations or athletics, awards and distinctions, and any other information about yourself relevant to the program, Portfolio scored out of 100 points; minimum 70 points required for approval, Logo (hand-drawn): original logo for 'Invincible Gaming' including company name and logomark, black ink only (15 pts), Expressive Typography (hand-drawn): hand-lettered full name in full colour reflecting personality (15 pts), Poster Design (digital or hand-drawn): full-colour 12"x18" poster promoting a local event (15 pts), T-Shirt Design (digital or hand-drawn): two-colour design for Holland College Graphic Design program (15 pts), Original Work: three original works created in the past year (15 pts), Essay: 400–500 word statement on program goals and career aspirations (10 pts), Presentation: well-organized, easy-to-access portfolio (10 pts)
