This course will be delivered via distance education for the theory portion. Currently it is available only to P.E.I. and Nova Scotia assistants and will be recognized by the P.E.I. and Nova Scotia licensing council. Students will be registered for 5 weeks, 4 of which are to complete the theory portion of study. They are responsible for contacting instructors to discuss any difficulties. Students will complete a 3-hour theory exam, students will be required to attend Holland College for a preclinical component, or attend the college for continuous days to complete the preclinical component, or attend intermittently to complete specific aspects of the preclinical component. Arrangements are to be made specifically with the (dental personnel) overseeing the refresher course. The exam will be delivered at Holland College on a mutually agreed upon date. Registration for this course is ongoing. PREREQUISITES: Proof of previous P.E.I. or Nova Scotia licensure and training in Intra-Oral Dental Assisting.
