This course explores the opportunities available for nurses to demonstrate leadership within their profession. Participants will identify various leadership styles and learn how self awareness and social competency facilitate leadership. Using theory and interactive exercises, participants will enhance their understanding of the role of nursing within the Primary Health Care Model. The benefits of interprofessional practice will be discussed and participants will develop an appreciation for this collaborative approach to healthcare while learning strategies to demonstrate leadership in the health care field.
