It introduces students to the elements and principles of design and presentation skills. Students learn how to apply the principles of structural and decorative design to organize creative and functional interior spaces. Presentation skills and rendering techniques are explored. Student will conduct client consultations to determine the needs and requirements of their clients. Apply the design elements and principles to organize a functional and stimulating space of their own design. Develop a design concept. Evaluate and apply a client's criteria to produce a client-centered visual presentation (story-board), which will include finished floor plans, elevation drawings, appropriate samples of furniture, lighting and upholstery fabrics, and written schedules to identify the information shown on each drawing. Students will present their preliminary drawings, story board and complete an oral presentation of their design to their client.
