Software development is a process that begins with a request or idea and embarks on a building proces This process may be compared very closely to the building of a house from a set of blueprints. Many tools exist to guide us through the steps of developing a system. Students will be introduced to structured programming techniques and will use a variety of tools and techniques to develop a system. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to manage information by creating a relational database environment where they apply tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and courses using Microsoft Access. Students learn the basics of the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programing language and then apply programming concepts and techniques to develop VBA courses for Microsoft Access 2000 Students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the Micorsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certification exam for Microsoft Access (core level).
