The objective for this course is to educate the learner on the dangers of the internet and how to administer web access to children. This course is designed with parents in mind but can be for anyone who wants to learn about internet safety. The learner will be discover software and tools regarding the protection of children on the internet and what dangers exist for not only their children but themselves as well. Topics covered will be examined for risks including email, messenger services, chat rooms, blogs, websites and "cyber-bullying". The learner will also be exposed to different tools and skills for tracking web browsing and messenger type programs. When the learner leaves they will have knowledge of resources where they can learn new internet safety tips for children. After the course is completed learners will have a better understanding of the internet and how children interact with it. Participants will be able to administer safer internet access and browsing habits.
