The course provides training to police officers, on the facilitation of instruction on the theory of breath testing and the operation of the Intox EC/IR II. This qualification is for the purposes to delivery training on conversion of current Qualified Technicians to the Intox EC/IR II, and to new users. The course provides training to police officers, on the theory of breath testing and the operation of the Intox EC/IR II, for the purposes of qualification and designation as a Qualified Technician for the purpose of taking breath samples pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. This course, delivered regionally, is jointly taught by Forensic Scientists and police officers. As well, subject matter resources which may be selected from Crown Council to provide instruction on case law as it relates to impaired driving. This joint effort by scientists, police officers and lawyers ensures that the course remains "state of the art" in terms of relevancy and consistency.
