The Basic Rifle Instructors Course is designed to develop Serving Officers into Qualified Rifle Instructors. As Qualified Instructors, an officer on this course will be certified to provide quality weapons instruction to members of their department or agency in the use of rifles. As an officer chosen to attend this course, you will be provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to proficiently organize and competently conduct rifle qualificaions, as well as provide remdeial instruction that will assist other officers with their weapons skills in an effor to assist fellow officers in meeting their annual weapons qualified standards. You will also learn policies & procedures regarding the safe & effective operaion and maintenance of a shooting range. An example is the APA range ration of one (1) instructor for every four (4) student/officers at the firing line on the range.
