This capstone course provides students the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the Welding Technology program in the design and fabrication of an individual or group project. Students will conceptualize, design, and fabricate a complete welded structure using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Projects will incorporate proper material selection, joint design, welding processes, and finishing techniques. Emphasis is placed on project planning, bill of materials (BOM) creation, cost estimation, fabrication accuracy, applicable welding code compliance, and presentation of the final product.
