This course introduces students to computer-aided design (CAD) and data applications used in modern welding and fabrication. Students will study welding terms, definitions, and symbols in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS A2.4 and A3.0) and apply these standards to create detailed weldment drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Microsoft Excel is used for welding cost estimation, including calculations based on weld length, weight, and manufacturing time. Through hands-on projects, students will integrate CAD and cost data to produce AWS-compliant fabrication drawings and documentation. Emphasis is placed on digital design communication, manufacturing efficiency, and industry-relevant technical skills. Concurrent: TECH-1010
