This clinical course provides Practical Nursing students with supervised, real-world patient care experiences in acute and sub-acute medical-surgical settings. Building on knowledge from concurrent theory and skills lab courses, students will apply critical thinking, clinical judgment, and advanced nursing skills to provide safe, evidence-based care to adult patients with complex and coexisting health conditions. Emphasis is placed on recognizing changes in patient condition, prioritizing care, reinforcing patient and family education, and communicating effectively within the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This course supports the transition to entry-level practice by promoting the development of professional behaviors, accountability, and competence inthe Licensed Practical Nurse role. Students must successfully complete NURS 1302 to progress to this course. Corequisite(s): NURS 1301
