This course provides foundational knowledge to prepare the practical nurse for providing evidenced-based care to diverse patient populations across the lifespan within the framework of the nursing process. Current and historical issues and practices impacting the scope of nursing practice with a focus on understanding the role, scope of practice, and professional responsibilities and expectations of the practical nurse are explored. Concurrent: This course is designed to be taken concurrently with NURS 1102 Skills Lab, NURS 1103 Fundamentals Clinic, and NURS 1104 Practical Nursing Pharmacology.
Prerequisites: NURS1102, NURS1103, NURS1104
