EMT1500 — Basic EMT III

This is the third in a sequence of five courses to prepare the student as a Basic EMT. Emphasis is placed on didactic content delivery covering the recognition and management of environmental and trauma emergencies including soft tissue, head, chest, and abdominal injuries, as well as, verbal, written, and radio communications, appropriate triage of patients having medical and trauma emergencies, and recognition and management of emergency childbirth in addition to a variety of pediatric emergencies. Prerequisite(s): “C” or better in EMT 1100 , “C” or better in EMT 1210 Corequisite(s): EMT 1610 , EMT 1710
