CHLD2760 — Professionalism in the Early Childhood Educator

Professionalism in the Early Childhood Educator allows students to reflect on their program and professional experiences, demonstrated skills and competencies, and professional goals. Students will demonstrate their understanding and ability to apply key concepts from the field and Developmentally Appropriate Practices to their work with young children, families, and professional colleagues. A time of professional self-reflection wraps up the course, with topics ranging from leadership capacity and personality style to work-life balance, and the ability to advocate for themselves and others. A 40-hour practicum field placement is required and includes practice with children between the ages of birth-eight years, in a high-quality early learning setting. MiRegistry clearance is required. Prerequisite(s): CHLD 1360 & CHLD 2360
