The first semester of a two semester organic chemistry course designed to meet the needs of science students. The course covers a survey of various organic functional groups, stereochemistry, nomenclature and reactions of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, and aromaticity. Prerequisite(s): “C” or better in CHEM 1120
