RET2442 — Cardiopulmonary Hemodynamics

2 credit hour(s) This is a more in-depth look at the cardiovascular system, with a review of the pulmonary system. The course will detail diagnostics and therapeutics related to these systems. These include various types of pressure monitoring, cardiac output monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumping, open heart and thoracic surgery, fluid and electrolytes and pharmacologic intervention. Critical-thinking skills are applied with assessment, monitoring and management of the patient with hemodynamic instabilities. Contact: 2 hours per week. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
