3 credit hour(s) This lab/clinical course introduces students to the treatment of moderate to advanced periodontal disease. The on-campus clinic experience involves dental hygiene treatment that includes patient education, periodontal evaluation through radiographic interpretation and clinical assessment, treatment planning and Phase I therapy for periodontal disease. One-on-one instruction in advanced periodontal instrumentation is taught on periodontal patients who present as periodontal case-based learning requirements of the program. Contact: 120 clock hours per semester. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
