CHM1032 — General Chemistry for Allied Health

3 credit hour(s) This course affords students the ability to critically examine and evaluate the principles of the scientific method, model construction, and use the scientific method to explain natural experiences and phenomena. This course consists of selected topics, specifically designed for a health-related major, with practical application of the chemical concepts of matter, atoms, measurement, bonding, reactions, pH, etc. The organic portion will introduce carbon chemistry and its compounds and their relationship to health-related fields. Cannot be used to satisfy degree requirements by students who already have credit for CHM1020 or CHM1045 . Lecture: 3 hours.

Prerequisites: MAT1033, MAC1105, MGF1130, STA2023
