RTE 2385 - Radiation Biology and Protection RTE 2385 - Radiation Biology and Protection 3 cr. hrs. This course presents an overview of the principles of radiation protection, including the responsibilities of the radiographer for patients, personnel, and the public. Radiation health and safety requirements of federal and state regulatory agencies, accreditation agencies, and healthcare organizations are incorporated. Course also provides an overview of the principles of the interaction of radiation with living systems, effects on molecules, cells, tissues and the body as a whole, and presents an overview of the acute and chronic effects of radiation. In order to successfully pass this course, a grade of B or higher must be achieved in this course. Course Designations: (OA)
