BSC 1420C - Introduction to Biotechnology BSC 1420C - Introduction to Biotechnology 4 cr. hrs. This course includes skills-based basic concepts and techniques necessary to work effectively in a biotechnology laboratory. Basic skills include following procedures and keeping records, lab safety procedures, lab mathematics and measuring, preparing solutions, and basic techniques used for the separation of biomolecules. Emphasis will be on DNA manipulation techniques and protein analysis. You will develop confidence in your ability to work safely with proficiency in the use of basic biotech lab instruments.
