PRN 0099C - Practical Nursing Foundations 2 Add to Catalog Portfolio PRN 0099C - Practical Nursing Foundations 2 Credits: N/A, Clock Hours: 300 This course encompasses general concepts of growth and development. Health maintenance of disease prevention, and health promotion are explored. Mental health status and psychosocial functioning, therapeutic nurse/client relationship, and the psychodynamics of behavior are explored. Students learn basic pharmacologic concepts and principles related to the safe administration of therapeutic agents by nurses to patients of all ages. The course is designed to facilitate the students’ understanding of the mechanisms of drug actions and provide a safe approach to drug administration. Clinical experiences are provided in both a nursing simulated laboratory and various healthcare facilities under faculty supervision. Terms all, Spring, Summer Clock Hours: 300 (Classroom 80 hrs., Lab 65 hrs. Simulation 35 hrs., Clinical 120 hrs.)
