JOU 1100 - Basic Reporting JOU 1100 - Basic Reporting (3 Credit Hours) (A.A.) This course meets the Gordon Rule requirement. This is an introduction to fundamentals of print journalism. Issues in media law, including libel and privacy, and the ethics of journalism are explored. Students learn the basics of reporting techniques, including interviewing skills, computer assisted reporting, civic journalism and information gathering. Students should anticipate spending additional time outside the classroom covering events on campus and in the community to fulfill written assignments.
