THA101 — Introduction to Theatre

Add to My SC4 Catalog This course offers an insider’s window on the world of the modern theatre. Emphasis is placed upon defining the roles of the many creative artists who contribute to the creation of a theatrical event. A brief survey of western theatre history provides historical context for the development of modern theatre occupations and dramatic genres. Students choose an individualized term project and present their research (dramaturgy) and production concept and/or design in an environment of artistic collaboration. Prerequisite(s): None 3 credits = 3 lecture
