PHL215 — Introduction to Logic

Add to My SC4 Catalog This course is a non-mathematical introduction to the basic principles of reasoning and symbolic logic. The course covers both deductive and inductive inferences, and gives attention to informal fallacies, sentential logic and syllogistic reasoning. Additional topics may include quantification, and issues in computation and the Philosophy of Mind. The object of the course is to make the student more alert to fallacious arguments and able to determine if argument forms are valid. Prerequisite(s): None 3 credits = 3 lecture
