ENG243 — Introduction to the Short Story

Add to My SC4 Catalog The short story displays a unique set of characteristics whose form and theory reveal it as a distinct literary genre. The course will focus on in-depth discussions of short stories with an emphasis on textual analysis. Through direct engagement with stories from different historical contexts and from around the world, students will seek to understand a variety of values, ethics, and traits that are found in short stories. Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 or ENG 100 3 credits = 3 lecture
