HSC 1000 - Introduction to Health Care HSC 1000 - Introduction to Health Care The infusion of a global perspective in this course gives students a broader perspective of the diverse patient population and many of the culturally issues surrounding health and health care delivery. Upon successful completion of HSC1000, students will understand ways to improve their cultural communication skills, learn the ethical and legal responsibilities of the health care professional, as well as, understand the stages of growth and development and know how to complete a physical and psychosocial assessment. Students will practice how to assess vital signs and understand the importance of proper body mechanics and environmental safety. Units on infection control, HIV/AIDS education, first aid, health care delivery and death and dying are also covered in this comprehensive health care course. Parallel: College Transfer (A.A. and A.S)
