This interdisciplinary course is designed to introduce the student in some depth to one of the major events of the 20th century and to explore the social, psychological, ethical and moral, religious, cultural, artistic and personal implications of the Nazi extermination of six million Jews and five million other Europeans in the name of racial purity. The course provides the opportunity to explore the nature of good and evil as reflected in acts of prejudice, intolerance and hatred as well as acceptance and celebration of human diversity. The course will include fieldtrips. This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of "C" or higher must be attained.
