This course will introduce students to health insurance coding and reimbursement methods. Emphasis will be placed on the history of health care reimbursement, managed care plans, governmental regulations, HCPCS codes, Prospective Payment Systems, CMS-1500 and using the Claim Management option in MEDCIN software.
