DEH 2300 — Pharmacology

This course introduces the use of drugs and anesthesia in dentistry. Drugs classes, actions, interactions, and adverse effects are discussed. The use of topical and local anesthesia is addressed. A unit on medical mathematics is also included. Age-specific pharmacological needs are discussed. Special emphasis is placed on the applications of pharmacology to dental hygiene practice. Legal aspects are also addressed.
