XCJ 6164 -- Inmate Control Techniques 40 contact hours (Offered as needed) This course introduces and advances the officer's understanding of inmate manipulation in a correctional setting. Officers learn the strategies inmates employ to gain favor or exert influence and the skills with which to deflect these tactics. Using class discussion and hands-on exercises, this course emphasizes the challenges officers face on the job while stressing the importance of professionalism and awareness of surroundings.
