XCE 6539 -- Motorcycle Safety Basic Rider Course 16 Contact hours (Offered as needed) Motorcycle Safety Basic Rider Course is a 2 day course designed for beginning riders. The course is from 7am-4pm, each day, with a 1 hour lunch break. The Basic Rider Course consists of 16 hours of instruction including 5 hours in the classroom and 11 hours of intense riding on the parking lot range. This course will teach students how to operate a motorcycle safely and strongly emphasizes the special skills and mental attitude required for dealing with everyday riding. Participants will use bikes provided by NWF State College. Fee $200.00 Requirements • Must have at least an automobile learners license to take the BRC • Motorcycles and helmets (full face and 3/4) are provided, or you may bring your own DOT approved helmet • Students must provide proper riding attire, to include: o eye protection start o full-finger gloves o long pants (preferably denim jeans) o over ankle boots • If it rains the day of your class, we will still ride. You may want to invest in an inexpensive two piece rain suit Pre-requisite(s): You must be able to ride a two-wheeled bicycle for enrollment in the BRC. You are required to execute a "Release, Waiver and Indemnification" form. The form will be provided to you prior to participating in this course. Students under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign the waiver form on the first day of class.
