XAP 0941--Sheet Metal Layout 60 Contact Hours (Offered as needed) The goal of this course is for students to obtain the ability to perform math functions as required by the specific trades. Students will do basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. They will also work with and calculate volume, square footage, measurements, and reading a ruler of construction tape measure to the nearest 1/16'' while also indentifying and using special features of construction tape measures. Basic tools used to layout and perform sheet metal work will be discussed within the fabrication of ductwork.
