XAP 0940--Introduction to Refrigeration 60 Contact Hours (Offered as needed) The goal of this course is for students to obtain an understanding of the basics of the HVAC industry, terminology, employability skills, and safety. Students will have knowledge of basic first aid, basic OSHA standards, safe practices in the industry, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Students will be able to indentify the basic standard tools and materials of the trades, and understand their intended uses. They will also have the ability to indentify materials, hardware, and supplies common to the trades such as types and sizes of pipes, wires, sheet materials, and lumber.
