MLT 1022C -- Introduction to Medical Laboratory Technology 2 Credit Hours (Offered Fall) This course outlines the role of the medical laboratory technician and covers the basic principles, techniques, and vocabulary applicable to medical laboratory technology. It also provides overviews of the major regulatory agencies, professional associations, and safety practices. Students will learn basic laboratory mathematics, medical laboratory ethics, specimen collection and handling. Admittance to the MLT program is required. This course requires a grade of C or higher. This course requires a lab fee. Prerequisites: Admittance to the MLT program; MAC 1105C; BSC 1085C; BSC 1086C or BSC 1010C (grade of C or higher on all courses) Prereq/Coreq: MEA 1040C
