LPN111 — Fundamentals of Practical Nursing (10 credit hours)

Introduces the student to the art and science of nursing care, including its history, current trends, and healthcare delivery systems. Emphasis is on the practical nursing student as a caregiver and the responsibilities this entails in the clinical setting. The laboratory component has a focus on the acquisition of the nursing skills necessary for progression to clinical sites and subsequent courses. Students have an opportunity to practice skills on a mannequin and peers. The course is organized according to the practical nurse program
