Introduces the student to the art and science of nursing care, including its history, current trends, and healthcare delivery systems. Emphasis is on the practical nursing student as a caregiver and the responsibilities this entails in the clinical setting. The laboratory component has a focus on the acquisition of the nursing skills necessary for progression to clinical sites and subsequent courses.
