This course provides an overview of ethical principles, legal responsibilities, and infection control practices in dental hygiene. Students will explore professional codes of ethics, patient rights, HIPAA standards, scope of practice regulations, and safety standards including OSHA and CDC guidelines. Emphasis is placed on ethical decision-making, legal accountability, and foundational infection prevention concepts essential for clinical readiness and entry into dental hygiene programs.
