A concentration within the Arts / Fine Arts program at Northwestern Michigan College focusing on drawing and painting fundamentals and advanced techniques. Courses cover painting in oils and acrylics, foundational and advanced drawing, life drawing from live models, and watercolor techniques. Students progress from basic skills — line, form, composition, perspective, value — through complex challenges including color theory, lighting effects, personal style development, and professional presentation. Studio instruction is provided by practicing professionals with industry and exhibition experience.
