Concentration: Ceramics

As one of the plastic arts, ceramics is one of the oldest art forms. From functional objects like cups, bowls and vases, to sculpture, ceramics has been used to chronicle human history and to advance technology through industry and applied applications. Offering Ceramics I (Art 151), Ceramics II (Art 152) and Independent Studies, students will learn technical skills associated with the ceramics art medium. Through exploration and utilization of the pottery wheel and hand-building techniques students will have the opportunity to create functional and sculptural works.
