NMC offers two full-time 16-week Police Academies per year, one in fall and one in spring. Admission begins with MCOLES pre-enrollment Reading & Writing and Physical Fitness tests held approximately four months before each academy. Successful applicants then complete paperwork, fingerprinting, drug testing, a full medical evaluation, and a comprehensive background investigation followed by a formal interview with the Academy Director. Graduates must meet Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) licensing requirements.
