Social Work prepares students to help individuals and families cope with everyday challenges including disability, domestic conflict, substance abuse, and inadequate housing. The associate-level program covers general practice, client assessment, counseling and interviewing skills, policy practice, and a field internship bridging coursework and real-world practice. Courses are designed to transfer to four-year social work programs, with a specific articulation pathway into the Ferris State University Bachelor of Social Work through NMC University Partners. Employment for social workers is projected to grow 22% through 2030.
