NMC's Communications program develops effective communication skills across diverse media and disciplines. Areas of study include public speaking, literature, linguistics, and world languages. Students may select courses to fulfill requirements in various programs or concentrate in a specific area to prepare for transfer to a four-year college or university. Students pursue a general liberal arts curriculum tailored to their interests. The program spans careers including media, public relations, and technical writing. Practical experience is available through the student newspaper White Pine Press and NMC Magazine, with free editing support at the Writing & Reading Center.
