Associate in Science and Arts in Early Childhood Education, accredited by NAEYC. Curriculum aligns with NAEYC standards, the Council for Professional Recognition (CDA), and Michigan Early Childhood Core Knowledge and Competencies. Students study child development from birth to age eight through fieldwork and classroom instruction, with emphasis on anti-bias curriculum covering physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains. Prepares students for the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and careers as preschool teachers, child care center directors, Head Start teachers, or classroom assistants. Fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) requirement toward the ZS Early Childhood Education endorsement or elementary studies degree.
