Pre-Law students develop critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills by interpreting cases, composing briefs, and engaging with legal issues. The program prepares students for law school or careers in legal occupations, including paralegal, mediator, compliance officer, human resources, real estate, and government relations. Legal occupations were projected to grow 9% from 2016–2026, with strong demand for paralegals. The median annual wage for legal occupations was $80,080 in May 2017. The credential awarded is the Associate in Science and Arts (ASA), which is a Michigan transfer degree.
