Occupational Therapy

Degree

Occupational therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through therapeutic use of everyday activities, helping them develop, recover, and maintain skills for daily living and working. Muskegon Community College offers an Associate in Science and Arts (ASA) degree designed for transfer to a four-year college or university, where students typically complete a master's degree in occupational therapy. All states require licensure. Employment is projected to grow 24 percent from 2016 to 2026, driven by demand from patients with Alzheimer's disease, cerebral palsy, autism, and other conditions.
