The Associate in Fine Arts – Music Option (UM-Flint Bachelor of Music Track) is designed for students planning to transfer to a university, college, or conservatory to major in music. The program focuses on music foundation courses and general education requirements that transfer to other institutions. Music majors must audition for admission and participate in Band or Choir for four semesters (chamber ensembles may substitute for jazz, guitar, string, and piano majors). Career paths include music teacher, director, composer, musician, audio engineer, music therapist, and instrument repairer.
Prerequisites: Application for the Music Program including scholarship application (online at www.music.mcc.edu), Schedule and complete an audition with the Fine Arts and Social Sciences office, Complete the Music Theory placement exam (ideally prior to June 28, before the start of the summer session); must bring photo I.D. and a pencil
