Biochemistry is the science that deals with the substances, reactions and processes that occur in a living organism. Success requires a firm grounding in physics, mathematics and biology. In addition to core chemistry courses, MCC offers courses in environmental pollutant analysis and forensic chemistry. Under full-time chemistry faculty, students may perform original research and submit results for publication, and forge bonds with faculty at local universities through projects involving four-year university chemistry departments.
