This course examines the development of the literature of the United Kingdom and Ireland from the Romantic era to the present, including the work of colonial and post-colonial writers, featuring selected essays, autobiographical writings, poems, fiction, and drama. Through critical reading and analysis, students will deepen their understanding of how literature is informed by and interrogates historical events, cultural forces, and worldviews. Course
